On the road to sustainable living excellence
Sustainable green carpet cleaning
Yellow Brick Road is focused on sustainable cleaning and providing Melbourne customers with current technology in carpet care. For people who are sensitive to odours, we are one of very few companies to offer scent-free products that can still achieve excellent results.
Our internationally recognised Green Pathway ISO 14001 certification is a stepping stone towards an environmentally friendly management system. Our low-moisture carpet and upholstery cleaning system can reduce water and electricity usage by as much as 95%, with no toxic water disposed into the drainage system.

Why customers choose our low-moisture system
Suitable for customers who are sensitive to strong cleaning-product odours.
The system substantially reduces water and electricity use compared with traditional methods.
Carpets can be walked on immediately and are generally fully dry in approximately one hour.
A crystallised encapsulating polymer is easily captured during normal vacuuming, leaving carpets brighter and softer.
Steam cleaning Melbourne
When you have your carpets cleaned, you want current cleaning methods and equipment together with trained and skilled industry technicians. Yellow Brick Road uses modern cleaning equipment, including the Prochem truck-mounted steam-cleaning extraction unit.
The unit provides high-temperature sanitising cleaning and extraction. A hot pre-spray of sustainable cleaning products is applied and agitated to help separate soil from the fibres. The carpet is then hot-water extracted with the Prochem truck-mounted unit and groomed for a uniform appearance.
Hot pre-spray
Sustainable cleaning products are applied to the carpet before extraction.
Agitation
The products are agitated to help separate embedded soil from the carpet fibres.
Hot-water extraction
The powerful Prochem truck-mounted unit extracts loosened soil and cleaning solution.
Final grooming
The carpet is groomed to create a more uniform finished appearance.
Did you know we also clean rugs?
Rugs often need a more specialised process than fitted carpet. Yellow Brick Road provides in-home cleaning where suitable, together with drop-off and pickup-and-delivery options.
Fibre protection
To extend the life of your carpets, ask about our new-technology environmentally friendly fibre protectors. These products act as an inhibitor against everyday spillages such as food and drinks, allowing time to absorb excess moisture before it causes further fibre damage.
The products are suitable for all fibres and are designed not to alter the texture, feel or colour of carpets and rugs.
Pet stains and odours
We all love our pets, but the odours and stains they leave in carpets and rugs can be harder to love. Ammonia, uric acid and salt in pet urine can permanently yellow or brown fibres and cannot always be removed.
Yellow Brick Road uses current neutralising and deodorising treatments, but cannot guarantee that every pet stain or odour will completely disappear. Treatment for pet stains and odours incurs an additional charge.
This treatment is not a pet repellent. It is a cleaning process intended only to assist with the removal of smells associated with urine.

Frequently asked questions
Useful answers before you book.
The correct process depends on carpet construction, soiling, odour sensitivity and the result you are seeking.
Should I choose low-moisture or steam cleaning?
You do not need to select the method without advice. Yellow Brick Road can assess the carpet and recommend low-moisture cleaning or truck-mounted steam extraction according to the fibre, condition and desired result.
How quickly will my carpet dry?
With the low-moisture system, carpet can be walked on immediately and is generally fully dry in approximately one hour. Drying after steam cleaning varies according to conditions and the carpet.
Do your products leave a sticky residue?
The low-moisture process leaves a crystallised encapsulating polymer rather than an oily or sticky residue. The polymer is captured during ordinary vacuuming.
Can all pet stains and odours be removed?
No. Pet urine can permanently yellow or brown fibres. The team will use appropriate neutralising and deodorising treatments, but complete removal cannot be guaranteed.
Is fibre protection available?
Yes. Environmentally friendly fibre protectors are available to help inhibit everyday food and drink spillages without changing the intended feel or colour of the carpet.
